About
Thomas Carli is a composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Toronto. A recent graduate of the University of Toronto composition and percussion programs, Thomas's pieces have been played by ensembles such as the JACK Quartet, Oriana Women's Chorus, the Nordic Singers, the Continuum Ensemble, the University of Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the University of Toronto Percussion Ensemble, the Bedford Trio, and the Macmillan Singers.
Thomas has received commissions to write and produce music for the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival, The Canadian Film and Television Costume Awards (CAFTCAD), Kurtis Connor's “Keep Busy”, and several short films by independent filmmakers and animators. As a music editor and composer’s assistant, Thomas has contributed to television series such as Wynonna Earp (SyFy), Murdoch Mysteries (CBC), and The Borderline (Crave).
An accomplished drummer and percussionist, Thomas has appeared on stages across North America and in the studio with acts such as AVIV, Danny Michel, Lia Pappas-Kemps, Mini Pop Kids, Wannabe Spice Girls Tribute, Max Parker, The Commune, Meteor Heist, Trash Panda Brass, Siobhan Bodrug, Irish Millie, University of Toronto Percussion Ensemble, the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra, and the Hannaford Youth Band.
As a producer and recording engineer, Thomas’s recordings have amassed over 100,000 streams, and he continues to expand his reach through collaborations with emerging indie artists. Upcoming projects include co-producing an orchestral EP with Grammy-nominated producer Olle Romo, in which Thomas will be completing all the orchestral arrangements.
